King Charles III led the funeral procession for Catherine, Duchess of Kent. The royal funeral took place at Westminster Cathedral. Members of the royal family, including Charles III, Kate Middleton and Prince William, gathered to pay their respects to the wife of Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin.
However, Queen Camilla was forced to miss the procession, as announced at the last minute by a Buckingham Palace spokesman. He offered his condolences to the Duke of Kent and his family and explained that the Queen had fallen ill.
Also present at the funeral were Princess Anne, Sir Timothy Lawrence, Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh, the Prince and Princess of Kent, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. The service was the first royal funeral held at Westminster Cathedral since it was built in 1903.
