Meghan Markle celebrated her mother Doria Ragland’s birthday on Tuesday, September 2. In honor of the special day, the royal posted a touching post on her blog. Meghan posted a video of herself kissing her mother on the cheek.
Happy birthday, my beautiful mother! — Markle captioned the short video and attached a 1980 song by Stevie Wonder, “Happy Birthday,” to the post.

As a child, Ragland affectionately called her daughter “Flower.” The affectionate nickname was revealed on Meghan’s lifestyle blog The Tig (the Duchess later deleted the posts).
Meg, M&M, and Flower — that’s what my mother called me when I was little, Markle said at the time.
When Meghan and her husband Prince Harry were still living as part of the royal family, Ragland often came to the UK to visit her daughter and son-in-law. She also attended their royal wedding in 2018 and came to England for the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child, Archie, in 2019.
