Exhibition “Plisetskaya. Pole of Magic” at the Baltschug Kempinski Moscow

Until December 19, the five-star Moscow hotel, together with the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum, is holding an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great ballerina. Maya Mikhailovna’s name is inextricably linked with the finest productions of world ballet: Swan Lake, Carmen Suite, Don Quixote, Anna Karenina, Bolero, The Sleeping Beauty, Leda, and Isadora. The exhibition features photographs by renowned masters V. Bliokh, A. Trubitsyn, L. Pedenchuk, G. Solovyov, M. Logvinov, who captured Plisetskaya in these legendary roles.

Specifically for the exhibition opening, the hotel’s chef, Andrei Kagotkin, has prepared a conceptual menu – a gastronomic homage in five acts, revealing the multifaceted talents and tastes of Maya Mikhailovna. This unexpected combination of ingredients and flavors embodies the character of this legendary figure of world ballet – unique, bold, ahead of her time, and possessing an unwavering love of life.

By opening the photo exhibition and presenting a themed menu, we strive to create a series of experiences for guests and visitors reflecting the multifaceted legacy of Maya Plisetskaya. Let each frame and each dish become its own “pas”—a gesture that tells the story of her incredible life and work, where grace, strength, and weightlessness came together,” noted Lada Samodumskaya, General Manager of the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow, where the ballerina once stayed.

The dessert consists of a crispy base with Fleur de Sel, delicate sponge cake, and spiced caramel. Under the chocolate velvet coating is creamy rice pudding and airy mousse made from three types of vanilla. In addition, the top layer hides a chocolate capsule containing two bars – “Chocolate and puffed rice” and “Praline with puffed rice and salted caramel”. This exquisite gastronomic creation is essentially a classic Yule log, if it weren’t for the many hours of artisanal labor and the finest ingredients that transform it from a log into a sparkling star.

Another New Year’s souvenir from the French capital is an exquisite silk pajamas or kimono from the capsule collection of sleepwear Suite 504. It was created in collaboration with the Milanese fashion house Morpho + Luna and named after the most luxurious suite, the Imperial Eiffel Suite on the top floor of the hotel. The designer print, inspired by the Japanese Art Deco katagami stencil, uses the signature red color of Jacques Garcia, the famous interior designer of La Réserve.
