Katy Perry is seeking nearly $5 million in damages from the previous owner of her Montecito mansion. Perry has been in a years-long legal battle with the previous owner after the owner sought to reverse the sale of the property and sued the artist’s manager, Bernie Goodvey.

Perry and her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom purchased the $15 million home in August 2020, and Katy took ownership in May 2024.
The singer demanded that the former owner, businessman Karl Westcott, pay a total of $4,718,698 in a court document dated November 21, obtained by People.
The document states that Perry is entitled to $3,525,000 in back rent, which she allegedly lost due to the lawsuit, as well as $1,343,401 in necessary repair costs. However, Westcott’s side claims Perry owes him the remaining $6 million of the $15 million deal. The artist previously told the media that she intends to fight the legal battle to the end.
