New car – instant success
Just two weeks ago, the V Racing team experienced an unexpected accident at the round in St. Petersburg, as a result of which their Audi R8 LMS GT4 was sent for repairs after a collision with the Triumph Motorsport crew’s KTM X-Bow, which spun out on the wet track. But instead of dropping out of the race, the team decided to take a bold step – moving up to the GT Pro class with a more powerful Audi R8 LMS GT3, which had never competed in Russia before. And this choice turned out to be fateful.

A race on the edge of possibilities
Starting from the second row, Vartanyan made a spectacular overtake in the style of “formula” racing already in the first turn, breaking out into the lead. Although the #29 TEAMGARIS and #111 Blackthorn prototypes briefly pushed the Audi back, V Racing’s strategy was the key to victory.
- Three pit stops under REC rules – and each could cost two laps.
- Perfect timing: V Racing created a three-lap cushion that allowed Bulatov to maintain the lead even after the stop.
- The finishing dash: In the final 20 minutes of the race, Denis Bulatov confidently drove the black and gold Audi to victory, leaving behind the #63 Lamborghini Spora GT and #013 Mercedes CapitalRT.
Victory against all odds
We knew that the Audi The R8 LMS GT3 is a fast car, but to debut with a victory is incredible! – Vartanyan shared his emotions. – Especially after two weeks ago we didn’t even think we’d be able to participate.
What’s next?
The 2025 REC season was surprising in that each of the four races ended with a victory in the overall standings for the new crew. Will Vartanyan and Bulatov be able to repeat their success at the grand final on October 4 at Moscow Raceway? Or is REC waiting for a fifth overall leader? One thing is already clear: the Audi R8 LMS GT3 is a force in Russia!
