On August 26, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s only daughter Daisy turns five. But the singer is unlikely to be able to enjoy the celebration to the fullest. On this day, the singer has another urgent event in her plans. And it is not as pleasant as the party in honor of her daughter’s birthday. According to documents obtained by People, next Tuesday, which just happens to be August 26, Perry is scheduled to appear in court in the case of purchasing a house in Montecito.

Katy purchased the mansion, built in the 30s of the last century, from businessman Karl Westcott ten years ago, in 2015. The singer (and now her ex-lover Orlando Bloom) paid 15 million dollars for it. But a few days after the deal was completed, the previous owner decided that he had gone too far. And he tried to back out of the sale — his relatives appealed by the fact that the businessman was not himself when the contract was signed. Confirmation of this — is a medical diagnosis. In 2015, the businessman was diagnosed with a genetic brain disease. Karl claimed that at that time he could not think clearly enough to make such an important decision. Perry and Westcott decided to go to court to find out who has the rights to the property. And in 2024, Katy was officially recognized as the new owner of the mansion. But Karl did not give up and filed an appeal.
The hearing on this case was supposed to take place on August 21, but due to a scheduling conflict with Perry’s world tour, it was postponed for several days. And now it will take place on the 26th, Daisy’s birthday. The only thing that makes the process easier is that the singer will not have to go to the courtroom. The hearing will be held online.
