The Oscar winner appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. During the conversation, which was dedicated to the new film “Nuremberg” starring Russell Crowe, the actor described how his life changed after filming ended. In the historical drama about director James Vanderbilt, Crowe played Nazi politician Hermann Goering. By his last day on set, he weighed 126 kilograms. But over the past year, he has lost weight to 100.9. And the main reason for this is not a strict diet or grueling workouts, but giving up alcohol, says 61-year-old Crowe.
“I’m a big proponent of drinking. It’s my cultural heritage, and as a representative of the working class, I have every right to it,” says the actor.
The “Gladiator” star admitted that with age he began to “better understand my abilities.” Including in alcohol consumption. Russell admitted that he did not become a teetotaler, but now the choice between drinking or not drinking is a conscious one for him.

If I decide to drink a glass of wine with dinner, it has to be a really good wine. Now I try not to drink just like that. Not to drink for the sake of the process itself.
Recently, he has been seriously taking care of his health. The actor also collaborated with a medical services platform and underwent a course of injections that helped him get rid of long-standing pain.
Injuries in the shoulder area led to severe arthritis. But now we see on the ultrasound that a year ago I had large patches of arthritis, and now they have decreased by about 70%.
Crowe noted that he is “slowly” getting used to this new transformation.
I want to make all these changes and make them long-term. The Ways2Well program has been a lifesaver for me because it has helped me overcome a ton of issues and relieved me of pain, so I can go to the gym and not suffer for two or three hours afterwards.
