Polina Gagarina and Igor Krutoy presented their new song “More” to the public, and also filmed a music video, which premiered today.
Don’t call me anymore – I don’t like this sea, and I don’t need water, this water, dark water, – Gagarina sings in the song, telling the story of love and separation that brings pain.
According to the artist, Igor Krutoy wrote the song especially for her. During the recording process, she and the composer quickly realized that this single was worthy of becoming a full-fledged release.
Igor Yakovlevich is a very important person in my life and career, essentially my first mentor. But then, in my youth, for some reason it didn’t work out that he would write songs for me. That is why I am very happy to present our joint work now, – Gagarina told HELLO!
Igor Krutoy also noted that the song “More” is his first experience of joint work on a track, specially written to the verses of the talented poetess Liza Grinkevich for Polina Gagarina.
I am captivated by Polina’s professionalism and sensuality! This is not work at all, but a pleasure to be in the studio and create a song for Polina Gagarina… I hope for the public’s favor when they listen to our premiere, – the composer noted.
Work on the video for the song “More” was completed quite recently. The video was directed by Masha Zhemchuzhina, known for her work on Anna Asti’s “Tsaritsa” video.
The filming took place partly in St. Petersburg and partly in Moscow. To film the hangar scene, we almost completely reassembled the hangar – poured the floors, painted the walls, even installed moldings. The preparations were a kind of “renovation school”, but thanks to the well-coordinated work of the team, everything worked out. The dream of filming a parachute jump without graphics arose many years ago. Moreover, before that, I had not seen such attempts in music videos without the use of graphics. For us, this was a real challenge. Preparation for this scene took several weeks – approvals, finding locations with the right background, weather, a costume – not only safe, but also beautiful, even the light – everything was monitored. In the end, we had two days of filming with an airplane, during which we made as many as six jumps. All for the sake of a few unforgettable shots that we made first in the music video, – the director shares the details.
Masha added that four cameras were installed on the plane specifically for filming the jump, in addition, a drone was circling around it, and a cameraman was jumping with a parachute together with the heroine of the video.
I can only imagine what it is like to fly down from 2500 meters with a camera in your hand and build a composition in the moment, especially when you have a maximum of 20 seconds of free flight for this. Here, of course, to say that it is simply difficult is an understatement, it seems almost unreal, but we managed it, – added Zhemchuzhina.
