Prince Harry has confirmed that he will be in London for the annual WellChild Awards, which will take place on the third anniversary of the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth. The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex said he was honoured to be back at the awards ceremony. The awards are for children living with complex health problems. Harry has been a patron of the charity since 2007, and it is one of the few causes he has continued to support since stepping down as a full member of the royal family in January 2020 and moving to California with wife Meghan Markle.

In a statement on the WellChild website, Harry personally noted how special it is for him to attend the charity event.
It is always a privilege to attend the WellChild Awards ceremony and meet the incredible children, families and professionals who inspire us all with their strength and spirit. For 20 years, the award has highlighted the courage of young people living with complex medical conditions and honoured the dedicated family members and professionals who support them every step of the way. “Their stories remind us of the power of compassion, connection and community,” he said.
It is not known whether Harry will visit his father King Charles III during his visit. He has not spoken publicly to his father since February 2024. Harry has made no secret of his desire to reunite with his family, telling BBC News in May that he “would like to see a reconciliation because there is no point in continuing to fight.” Harry also invited his father and brother to take part in his Invictus Games event in 2026.
