The release of Wuthering Heights was a big event this winter. Many fans of the film immediately tried to recreate Margot Robbie’s signature “meh” makeup.
The film’s makeup and hairstylist, Sian Miller, revealed in an interview with Allure what exactly she used to create Robbie’s inimitable pink lip color in the film. It turned out to be a $6 lip balm from a budget cosmetics brand.
Miller also explained how to create the effect of slightly flushed cheeks: to do this, apply blush using dotting motions. Incidentally, this same blush was used by Reese Witherspoon and Helena Christensen.
Lip balm was the only cosmetic product I was allowed to use in middle school. The balm moisturizes, and also gives a semi-glossy shine and a light tint, – Miller shared the details.
Fans immediately noticed that at different moments of the film, the heroine demonstrates the same style of makeup.
I liked how Katie’s image changed throughout the film depending on the stage of her life, but at the same time there was always a romantic shade in her appearance. She always had the perfect amount of blush on her cheeks and a soft, natural lip color – and I think I’d look like that too if I spent all my time running around the moors, – wrote one viewer.
