The 40-year-old actor, known for his role as Mukhich in the TV series “Policeman from Rublyovka”, has had a relapse of brain cancer. He spoke about this on his Telegram channel. Roman noted that he was almost completely blind – his synapses responsible for visual and auditory functions are severely damaged, so he cannot see at all with his right eye, and can barely distinguish the outlines of objects with his left.
But I really want to work, I really want to live, – Popov said on his social networks.
The actor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. After a year of treatment, with the help of friends, colleagues and producers, he managed to overcome the terrible disease – Roman was in remission for six years. And now he also really needs help: Popov announced a fundraiser and appealed to everyone who wants to help him. He recorded a video:
For now, as you can see, I’m sitting here, my hand is moving. I can’t see it, but it’s moving, I can feel it. I hope to continue filming in the next couple of months, if possible. But for now I’m quite dependent. I walk with help, I eat with help, in general, everything with help… The world is not without good people, — Popov said.
Recall that Roman has three children: son Fyodor, daughters Marta and Elizaveta. He has been married to his wife Yulia Popov since 2007.
