Goldie Hawn broke down in tears while talking about her close friendship with the late Diane Keaton.
She brought so much joy, so much life, so much enthusiasm, Hawn said onstage during the Women in Entertainment Gala on Wednesday, December 4. “She was like lightning.” “There was nothing she couldn’t do,” she continued. “There was no world she couldn’t live in. She was just an extraordinary person.

Hawn starred with Keaton in the film The First Wives Club. Recalling how they lived in neighboring houses, the actress could not hold back her emotions.
It was just amazing to know that she was nearby, – said 80-year-old Hawn. – I always thought about her, she was so close to me.
Hawn also recalled the moment when she learned of Diane’s death.
And then when she died, I found out about it by chance when I was in my backyard, and I went there, to my rose garden, – she shared. – I just looked down. She can’t go away. She just can’t go away. “None of those people should die,” Hawn concluded sadly.
