Meghan Markle plans to reconnect with her estranged father, Thomas Markle. On Monday, December 8, the British newspaper The Times reported that Meghan, 44, hopes to send a letter to 81-year-old Thomas as soon as she receives contact details at the hospital in the Philippines where he is recovering from surgery last week.
There is progress, but she has not yet been in touch, an insider told the publication. – We hope and expect that she will be contacted within the next 24 hours.
A source close to Meghan told Page Six that she has been calling local hospitals trying to find Thomas to deliver a letter to him. Meghan’s representative previously said that she had already contacted her father shortly after learning of his surgery.

However, Meghan’s sister Samantha Markle later insisted that “there was no contact.” Moreover, 61-year-old Samantha claimed that reports of an alleged letter from Meghan were “part of her PR strategy.” Thomas later told the Daily Mail on Sunday that he was “confused” by the media reports because he had “not received any messages from his daughter, from whom he is separated.”
