At the beginning of the year, alarming news surfaced online: renowned stylist Vladislav Lisovets is battling stage four cancer. For a long time, he avoided direct comment on the matter, only indirectly confirming that his health was indeed a cause for concern—and this had been the case for several years.
In an interview with Evgenia Medvedeva on the show “Bes Kommentarii,” Lisovets revealed for the first time the reasons for his silence around this controversial topic. He explained his position as follows:
Firstly, this is incredible PR, and refusing it would be very foolish. All my friends told me, “Come on, pick up the slack!” But I’m not one for black PR. Admitting it would be too much of a stretch. So I took a neutral stance, which I think worked out great , he said.
The stylist emphasized that his appearance speaks for itself: there are no signs of exhaustion, no need for a wig. Instead of succumbing to panic, he perceived the situation as a kind of challenge from fate:
I thought that the universe is giving me a chance to grow, develop, accept some things that have never happened in life… And I have always lived quietly and calmly, only my appearance was criticized, but these are such trifles. And then suddenly, scandal after scandal! – Lisovets noted.
Understanding how the media space works, Vladislav deliberately avoided detailed explanations, adhering to the principle of “neither yes nor no”:
Therefore, I took a neutral position. I don’t explain anything to anyone, I don’t say neither no nor yes. But I wrote in my post that I really did have and still have health problems because I’m old, concluded the 53-year-old TV presenter .
