Meredith Maines, who most recently worked as a biographer for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, has suddenly decided to leave her post. On Friday, December 26, it was announced that Maines was leaving her post as chief communications officer at Archewell Philanthropies, the charity owned by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

An insider told Page Six that Maines quit before Christmas but will stay on with the company until the New Year to help the couple with the transition, and they were able to find her replacement.
A source close to the situation said that the conflict with the Kardashian family was the “last straw” for Maines. In November, Meghan and Harry attended a party in honor of Kris Jenner’s birthday, and their photos from the holiday were leaked online, which were subsequently carefully deleted from the network to hide the presence of the couple at the party.
