A high-profile and viral incident occurred on the set of the late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Guest host Anthony Anderson made a cheeky joke about Ewan McGregor, which shocked Anne Hathaway and sent her into fits of laughter. The incident occurred during a promotional campaign for the actors’ new sci-fi thriller, The End of Oak Street.

During the conversation, the trio first discussed 43-year-old Anne Hathaway’s third pregnancy. Then the conversation turned to Ewan McGregor’s family. When Anderson asked the Scottish actor how many children he had, McGregor calmly replied that there were five. The host’s reaction was nothing short of eloquent. He jokingly asked, “Five! What are you, a Mormon?” To this, the 55-year-old actor laconically replied: “No.”

Then the situation escalated. Anderson turned to the studio audience and made a brutally blunt remark, hinting at the reason for the actor’s large number of children. The joke about Ewan’s sexual activity was explicit and profanity-laden. The atmosphere in the studio instantly became explosive.
Anne’s Reaction
The joke shocked Anne Hathaway, and her reaction was the most intense. The actress was literally speechless, threw her head back sharply, her mouth wide open, and then doubled over laughing, trying to cover her face with her hands. McGregor himself was also not indifferent and laughed sincerely.

Realizing that he had gone too far on air, Anderson immediately apologized to Hathaway with a laugh: “Oh, I’m sorry!” Anne, barely managing to suppress a fit of laughter, retorted ironically: “Well, I mean, who doesn’t like it?”
It’s worth noting that Ewan McGregor does have five children. Four are from his 22-year marriage to his first wife, production designer Eve Mavrakis: Clara (30), Jamian (25), Esther (24), and Anouk (15). The fifth child is a 5-year-old son, Laurie, born in the union with his current wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Also, during the interview, Anthony Anderson asked Hathaway about the sex of her future baby. Taking on the role of an expert, he said: “I consider myself an expert on children. This is the first time I’ve seen you pregnant. It looks like it’s a boy. Am I right, or are you expecting?” To this, Anne replied reservedly: “We know, but we’re not going to say.”
Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman are expecting their third child. The couple has been married since 2012. Their eldest children are 10-year-old Jonathan and 6-year-old Jack.
