From August 28th to September 13th, the capital hosted a very ironic and cheerful festival: junk food mingled with haute cuisine to add a touch of humor to pretentious restaurant menus and give chefs room to experiment. Truffles, black caviar, Kamchatka crab, snails, foie gras, and gold were found in shawarma, burgers, McDonald’s-style pies, French fries, and other typical street food dishes. Only they were served in a fine dining format—on white tablecloths, with restaurant service and the obligatory Mondoro Prosecco.
More than forty restaurants and bars participated in Petite Bourgeoisie, 14 of which were named the best by a professional jury. The winners are:



















One of the winners, whose menu, by the way, we liked the most, became the venue for the final social party. The Carlton Lounge & Bar, represented by the brand chef of The Carlton, Moscow hotel Ivan Markov, treated guests to French fries with a ton of black caviar. Other winners also prepared treats: Buro.TSUM chef Egor Makarov personally demonstrated how to eat his crab “fists” in crispy batter, and Brodo chefs Oleg Kusov and Andrey Titov, not without reason, praised their crab sticks stuffed with crab, and McBrodo’s pies with morels and snails.
