“Fingers”
The plot of Sergei Filatov’s new crime detective story unfolds in the small town of Zarechny, where everyone hides their skeletons in the closet. Investigator Yana Knyazeva (Oksana Akinshina) arrives to investigate a series of brutal murders—all the victims are somehow connected to the local orphanage. Yana was once a resident of the orphanage, and now her old friend from the orphanage is accused of murdering a family. Yana’s methods are impulsive and often go beyond protocol, which puts the investigation at risk. To control the situation, she is assigned police captain Denis Simonov (Dmitry Chebotarev), a more reserved and rational investigator. Their tense alliance becomes one of the key plots of the series. The first episodes have already been released on KION.

“Major Grom: Game Against the Rules”
The series “Major Grom: Game Against the Rules” is a six-episode collection of short stories, combining the events of three films in the universe – “Major Grom: Plague Doctor”, “Thunder: Difficult Childhood” and “Major Grom: The Game” – but reimagining them in the format of a director’s cut. Each episode is structured as a dossier on one of the “patients” of psychiatrist Veniamin Rubinstein (Konstantin Khabensky), and Oleg Volkov, Chebotarev’s character, occupies a special place among them. Already familiar to viewers from the previous parts of the franchise, here he gets a more comprehensive storyline: the sociopathic killer is revealed not only as a dangerous villain, but also as a character with a difficult fate.

“Half-Life”
This year we are expecting another new dramatic series, which critics already appreciated at the New Season festival last fall. The plot unfolds in two timelines: in 1988 and in 1954. During the perestroika years, Orenburg correspondent Nadezhda Keller (Anna Mikhalkova) goes to her small homeland, to the village of Totskoye, where her father died of a malignant tumor. The number of fellow villagers who have died from a similar illness shocks Nadya: she suspects that the causes should be sought in the nuclear tests conducted in this area thirty years ago, and decides to conduct her own investigation. The series delves into the stories of local residents who lived through the war and then the tragic events of the 1950s. One of them, a front-line soldier, Krasnov, convinced of the safety of the tests, is played by Chebotarev.

“Shakespeare Street”
In last year’s crime drama “Shakespeare Street,” Chebotarev played the lead role of lawyer Mikhail, whose successful Moscow life is turned upside down in an instant. Suddenly, his first love, Diana, the daughter of a gypsy baron, comes to him, asking for his help. Mikhail, formerly known as Mihai, is forced to return to his native gypsy camp on Shakespeare Street, from where he was exiled 16 years ago. He learns that all this time he had a daughter, who now faces imprisonment for a crime she did not commit, and he undertakes to save her. The hero will not only have to fight for the child’s freedom, but also rethink his roots, his relationship with a past love, and understand who he really is.

“Vegetation”
Another anticipated project is a science fiction film adaptation of Alexei Ivanov’s book “Vegetation”, directed by “Half-Life” director Maxim Sveshnikov. The action takes place in the near future in the Urals. The world has radically changed due to plant mutation: giant forests have become simultaneously deadly and vital, used to extract a valuable fuel – brizol. In this new reality, the interests of the state, researchers, and poachers clash. The story centers on heroes who embark on a risky expedition deep into a “living” forest, teeming with mutated nature and hidden threats. Alexey Serebryakov, Denis Kosikov, and Ksenia Tracer will star. Dmitry Chebotarev has a supporting role, but we’ll find out what role he plays this year.
“Long Protocol”
Zhenya (Dmitry Chebotarev) and Nikita (Artem Osipov) are the children of an authoritarian father, Ivan Vadimovich Shiryaev (Igor Chernevich). Their father has given his children everything but freedom and happiness. Despite both having started families, the brothers remain dependent on their father’s approval and financial support. Under pressure from their father, one divorces his wife, and the other marries a woman he doesn’t love. Nikita is tired of his marriage and his constantly pregnant wife, and Zhenya is having affairs while his new wife desperately tries to conceive through IVF. The complex and potentially dangerous IVF procedure becomes not only a medical but also an emotional ordeal for the couple. Sergey Filatov’s new series (“One Call Bar”, “Prints”) will be released this year on Okko.
