On the eve of the international competition of young pop singers “New Wave 2026” an unusual creative event took place in Kazan – the ceremony of sculpting a bas-relief of the competition. It took place on August 12 in the “Louis” restaurant of the DION INN Hotel & SPA. The event became a bright symbol of the unity of music and fine arts.

The tradition of creating bas-reliefs originated back in 2009 in Jurmala with the participation of UNESCO and the international organization “Chalice of Peace”. The composition is always based on the logo of the competition, place and year of the event. And the finalists place their own signs – logos, symbols, initials. This year, it’s also significant that a performer from Kazan is among the finalists. Ignat Izotov made it to the finals after a competitive process. Performing in your hometown comes with a special responsibility.

The event was attended by 12 finalists of the “New Wave 2026”: Flora Bichakhchyan (Armenia), Sofia Rustamova (Belarus), Amre (Kazakhstan), Arkady Yevtushenko, Anastasia Ivanova, Ignat Izotov, Liszt, Artem Minkov, Milana Ponomarenko, Nika Terentyeva, ISTOKIYA and TROFIM GRANN (all from Russia).

Under the guidance of sculptor Zulfiya Mukhamedyanova, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan and a teacher at the Kazan Art College named after N. I. Feshin, the contestants sculpted individual symbols from plasticine that reflected their creative style. These elements will become part of the overall “musical” panel. Later it will be cast in bronze and installed in a public place in Kazan.

The international competition “New Wave 2026” will be held from August 20 to 26 in the New Wave Hall on the territory of the Ak Bars Arena stadium in Kazan. The opening ceremony will take place on August 20.
