Kate Middleton, a natural brunette, surprised the public in early September by appearing in the gardens of the Natural History Museum in London with light honey-brown hair, sparking rumors that she was wearing a wig – either after cancer treatment or because of new health problems. These speculations were fueled by her more voluminous hairstyle, unusual for the Princess of Wales, and her parting shifted to the side.
Yesterday, Kate commented on her new hairstyle for the first time. The 43-year-old Middleton appeared with her husband, Prince William, at the Royal Variety Performance charity show at the Royal Albert Hall. Backstage, British actress and singer Su Pollard, according to the Daily Mail, complimented Middleton, saying:
I like your hair, it looks much lighter.
Kate responded:
It used to be chestnut brown, but the sun bleached it.

However, many stylists note that it was not only the sun that influenced the princess’s hair color. Most likely, Kate decided to freshen up her look a bit and agreed to a lighter shade, which suited her very well – the opinions of colorists and hairdressers are unanimous on this.
As a reminder, in early 2024, Kate was hospitalized for a planned operation, and three months later, in a video message, she announced the discovery of cancer. In the autumn of the same year, the princess announced the completion of treatment and soon resumed royal duties.
