The brother of the King of Great Britain, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, lost almost everything he had. Due to his friendly relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, accused of sex trafficking and pedophilia, the former prince fell into disgrace and is now literally cut off from the royal family. And the beginning of this estrangement was none other than Kate Middleton, claims royal biographer Christopher Anderson, author of the book “Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Strength of the Woman Who Would Be Queen.”
She is the first member of the royal family to turn her back on him, the writer shared during a conversation with Page Six.
Andersen said that Kate banned Andrew from attending her Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey. And he was forced to resort to an act humiliating for a royal person – through intermediaries, asking to be let in through a side door. But Kate was adamant.

They told him: “No, we don’t want your face in the frame,” Andersen claims.
The biographer explained that the Princess of Wales had at least two compelling reasons for doing so. Firstly, she is the wife of the future monarch. Secondly, she is the mother of the future monarch, 12-year-old Prince George, who is next in line to the throne after his father, William. Kate doesn’t want the monarchy, which will pass first to William and then to George, to be tainted by unsightly revelations and scandalous connections, Andersen asserts.
Recall that the dark streak in the life of Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, began during the lifetime of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. And after her death, things got even worse. In October 2025, Andrew’s brother, King Charles III, stripped him of his royal titles for his friendship with the late Jeffrey Epstein and the alleged rape of Epstein’s victim, Virginia Giuffre.
Their Majesties wish to emphasize that their thoughts and sincere sympathy have always been and will remain with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse, the statement said, indicating that Prince William and his wife supported the decision.
The embattled royal long denied the allegations, but nevertheless paid Giuffre millions in a civil lawsuit. Tragically, she committed suicide in 2025. Recently released emails reveal that Andrew maintained contact with Epstein even years after he claimed to have severed ties with him.
Earlier this year, Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of abuse of office for allegedly sharing confidential business information with Epstein. Christopher Anderson also claims that both William and Kate pressured the king to strip Andrew of his titles. And they pointedly ignored Andrew when he tried to strike up a conversation with them at the Duchess of Kent’s memorial mass in September 2025.
