On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the world and European premiere of Practical Magic 2 took place in London with great fanfare. The screening took place at the iconic Odeon Luxe cinema in Leicester Square and marked the start of a global press tour for one of the most anticipated films of autumn 2026.

Public and press interest in the sequel has been colossal: the sequel to the fantasy hit is released almost 30 years after the original 1998 film. There was a special atmosphere on the red carpet – spectators and journalists were eagerly awaiting the reunion of the film’s main stars.

The center of attention was Sandra Bullock (62 years old) and Nicole Kidman (59 years old) – they not only played the main roles, but also acted as producers of the project. The actresses appeared on the red carpet holding hands, once again demonstrating the unique chemistry that once made the film a cult classic.

This was a landmark appearance for Sandra Bullock: it was her first red carpet appearance in four years. The actress temporarily stepped away from public life to focus on her family and cope with the loss of her partner, Brian Randall, in 2023.

Along with the film legends, new franchise stars Joey King and Maisie Williams also appeared on the red carpet. In the sequel, they play the grown-up daughters of Bullock’s character, Kylie and Antonia Owens, who will take up the family’s magical baton. A pleasant surprise for fans was the return of Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest: the actresses once again reprise their roles as the eccentric aunts who have become an integral part of the Practical Magic universe. The film was presented by director Susanne Bier, known for the projects “The Night Manager”, “Bird Box” and “The Perfect Couple”.

The red carpet turned into a real haute couture show. Sandra Bullock chose a spectacular look from Givenchy – a corset dress with a leopard print, a high slit and a massive bow at the waist from the fall collection of the House.

Nicole Kidman gave preference to sophisticated classics: she appeared in a custom-made pale blue satin floor-length dress with open shoulders from Chanel.

A special charm to the evening was added by a detail from Maisie Williams: her dark burgundy dress by Ellie Misner became a tribute to the original film – the outfit was inspired by an archival image of Sandra Bullock from the premiere of the film “Forces of Nature” (1999).
