Oscar nominee Austin Butler is actively preparing for the lead role in the upcoming action film Miami Vice ’85. In new photos, the 35-year-old actor is captured leaving a gym in Los Angeles – this happened on Thursday, August 20. Wearing a simple T-shirt, Butler showed off his pumped-up biceps: the photos were taken in the company of his trainer. It is noteworthy that the actor celebrated his birthday this week.
The Miami Vice ’85 project, based on the pilot episode of the cult television series, promises to immerse viewers in the atmosphere of Miami in the mid-1980s – with its glamour and corruption. This was reported by Deadline. Joseph Kosinski will direct the film, and the cast, in addition to Austin Butler, includes Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan, Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, and Camila Morrone. Filming starts this year, and the premiere in cinemas is scheduled for May 19, 2028.

The actor’s trainer, Roy Chan, spoke about his approaches to physical training. On his account, he shared details of the training process that had previously helped Butler prepare for the film Hostiles.

According to Chan, the goal of the work was not only to achieve the desired shape for the role, but also to create a foundation for long-term peak performance. Over the course of 14 weeks, specialists combined technical movements, healthy eating, and proven training principles to not only transform the actor’s body but also form healthy habits for life. The trainer emphasized:
The path to the top is a long-term game, where you can’t sacrifice your health for a short-term aesthetic effect.
