The Okko online cinema, in collaboration with Originals Production and Norm Production, has launched filming of the psychological detective film “Poison.” Sasha Bortich stars as Lera, an ordinary girl whose life quickly descends into a nightmare.
The plot follows Lera as she meets a guy through a dating app and, after a couple of dates, realizes they’re not right for each other. She decides to end their relationship, but instead of a peaceful breakup, she encounters an obsessive stalker. The situation is becoming truly frightening: the police don’t see any threat in what’s happening, her loved ones attribute everything to the girl’s excessive anxiety, and Lera herself gradually begins to doubt her own adequacy and stops trusting even herself.
The creators of the project rely not on external effects, but on internal tension: “Poison” is a fusion of thriller, detective and drama, where the worst things unfold in the heroine’s mind.
The production is directed by Roman Novikov, known for his work on the Okko series “Kalimba”, “South” and “Black Cloud”. The acting ensemble includes Rinal Mukhametov, Konstantin Beloshapka, Daria Moroz, Ksenia Kutepova and Denis Prytkov. The script is written by Alena Yakubova, Anastasia Melnikova and Dmitry Shpenkov.
The project is already being called one of the most intriguing releases of the season: subtle psychological elaboration and tense intrigue promise to keep the viewer in constant emotional tension. The premiere of the series “Poison” will take place in the Okko online cinema.
