Michael J. Fox has been cast as the lead in a new animated film. The 65-year-old Back to the Future actor will voice the titular character Dougie in the upcoming animated feature Dragons from Icon Creative Studios.
According to a press release published by Variety, Dougie is an ordinary worker at WizCorp, but one day, an accident awakens something extraordinary in his new apprentice, Darth.
Transformed into a mighty dragon, Dougie and Darth discover an unbelievable truth: their kind were once legendary rulers of the skies, until the ruthless wizard CEO Hex shrunk them, wiped their memories, and stole their power to build his empire. With this new truth before their eyes and in their hearts, Dougie and Dart must find the courage to rise up, awaken their kind, and prove that even the smallest spark can light up the sky, the press release reads.

Michael previously took a temporary break from acting due to the progression of Parkinson’s disease, but continues to work on projects from time to time, for example, he appeared in several episodes of the Apple TV series “Shrinking” and voices a character in “Zootopia 2”.
Michael J. Fox will voice Dougie. From the moment we began developing this character, we knew we needed a voice that could convey both immense warmth and an unwavering spirit. Michael possesses all of that and more. He imbues Dougie with a soul that will have audiences of all ages rooting for him from the first frame to the last,” said Icon Creative Studio President Shay Wageman.
