The Sun’s royal editor, Matt Wilkinson, expressed surprise on a podcast about the royal family at how Sarah Ferguson was able to quietly disappear from the public eye. Ferguson was last photographed on December 12, 2025, when she arrived at St. James’s Palace for the christening of her granddaughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi. She was seen in the backseat of a car, and it was her first public appearance since her ex-husband was stripped of his royal title. Before Athena’s christening, Sarah and Andrew were last seen together in public at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent on September 16.
After the arrest of her ex-husband, Sarah continues to hide from the public, although reports of her whereabouts appear.
She went to Northern Ireland. She visited a spa there, visited Verbier. She stayed in a chalet provided to her by her old friend Paddy McNally, Matt told the English-language publication HELLO!.
It is also reported that Sarah spent some time in the Paracelsus rehabilitation clinic in Zurich, Switzerland. Sarah is believed to have arrived at the clinic after Christmas and left at the end of January. At the end of February, there were reports that Sarah had been seen at a hotel in County Donegal, Ireland.
