On Thursday, June 4, Kate Middleton shared a touching moment with another mother undergoing cancer treatment during an official royal family event. The Princess of Wales, who herself announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and declared remission in January 2025, met with 30-year-old Claire Laurent, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. After their introduction, Kate warmly hugged Laurent and congratulated her on completing her treatments.
Well done! — said the princess.

Laurent tearfully explained that despite the end of the difficult treatments, she still has surgery ahead. Middleton acknowledged the profound impact cancer has on loved ones, addressing her partner, Laurent.
I know it’s just as hard for families and loved ones. I remember how hard it was for my children and my parents,” Kate continued. “You’re going through it with them.”

Kate then welcomed the couple’s baby boy.
Isn’t mom brave? — she said encouragingly to the child.
Kate visited the Christie Clinic to learn more about the free support services that help cancer patients and their families cope with the emotional and physical difficulties of treatment.
