Divo Media and Bombora Publishing House have recorded a significant increase in interest in literature about Russian culture, history, and traditions. From July 2025 to June 2026, sales in this category jumped by 35%—from 85,435 to 115,124 copies. Moreover, this trend is not linked to a single hit: demand is growing across almost the entire thematic line.

Among the leaders in terms of growth is Elizaveta Tyugaeva’s book “YAT. Psychotherapy with the Russian Tradition”: its sales increased by 39%. The author suggests using folklore — songs, rituals, traditions — as a tool for working with emotions.

The book “How a Russian nobleman was raised. The experience of famous Russian families” gained 34% — readers are fascinated by historical approaches to education, discipline and family values.

The fastest growth was demonstrated by Natalia Yakubova’s publication “The Urals – Russia’s Malachite Box” : plus 60% (from 2,314 to 3,691 copies). Two of her other books are also at the top: “Karelia – the Pearl of the Russian North” (+26%) and “Myths of the Russian North, Siberia and the Far East” (+31%). Analysts see a shift in interest here: readers increasingly want to learn not just abstract history, but the culture and myths of specific regions.

The absolute leader in sales is the book by Svetlana Guryanova “In the beginning there was coffee. “Linguomiths, speech “mistakes” and other reasons to break lances in debates about the Russian language” : 11,402 copies sold in a year (+33%).

Another interesting trend is the rethinking of fairy tales: Svetlana Patrusheva’s book “The Psychology of the Russian Fairy Tale” showed an 18% increase. The author examines characters familiar from childhood through the prism of psychology and archetypes.

Experts believe that the growth in demand in several areas at once (Russian language, regional cultures, folklore, family traditions) speaks of a sustained interest in Russian heritage – and a desire to find practical meaning in it.
