The closing ceremony of the third “New Movement” young film festival took place with great fanfare at the A.S. Arensky Novgorod Regional Philharmonic. The evening’s highlight was the grand prize presentation, which went to the film “Wind in the Head” by director Arseniy Moskovsky. Along with the award, the filmmakers received a cash prize of 1 million rubles from the Governor of the Novgorod Region.
Following tradition, festival guests walked the red carpet. Star participants included Artem Mikhalkov, Maxim Korolev, Trifon Bebutov, Nadezhda Koroleva, Daria Mikhalkova, Olga Zhuravleva, Maxim Dobromyslov, Anastasia Krasovskaya, Rinal Mukhametov, Vsevolod Kaptur, Ivan Sosnin, Vladimir Khotinenko, Alena Babenko, Alexandra Revenko, Ksenia Teplova, Lyanka Gryu, Polina Lazareva, Maria Lapshina, Anna Savranskaya, Ilya Malanin, Elizaveta Ishchenko, and others. The red carpet looks were created by the team at Mone salons, and the festival’s visual concept was created by artist and designer Konstantin Chirkov. Musical accompaniment was provided by Iskander Khannanov and the chamber group “Ensemble”.





















The ceremony was hosted by actors Denis Vlasenko and Maria Lapshina – the latter also opened the evening with a musical number.
Nine films competed in the main competition program:
- “D-76” (dir. Alexey Zhitkovsky);
- “Zhuzha” (dir. Yulia Anishchenko);
- “My Own Bed Is Devouring Me” (dir. Vyacheslav Ivanov);
- “Not Gold” (dir. Takhmina Musset);
- “Surf Animal” (dir. Andrey Burmistrov);
“Wind in the Head” (directed by Arseniy Moskovsky);
“Where are you?” (dir. Veronika Korzhevskaya);
“Track “Sea-Sea” (dir. Ilya Khramov);
“Another Call” (dir. Svetlana Belkina).







The festival jury was headed by producer Maxim Dobromyslov, and included: cinematographer Vsevolod Kaptur, director and screenwriter Ivan Sosnin, actor Rinal Mukhametov, and actress Anastasia Krasovskaya.
The festival was marked by a number of special prizes:
The special prize of VGIK film critics (festival criticism laboratory) went to Ilya Khramov’s film “The Sea-Sea Highway” — “For aspirations for tomorrow and faith in bright changes.” The prize from the Vereteno film company and the VKontakte social network went to Vyacheslav Ivanov’s film “I Am Devoured by My Own Bed.” The award includes distribution support and social media promotion during public screenings. Actress Sofia Maksimova received agency support from Natalia Fenkina (educational program “First Steps in Cinema”).
Before the main awards ceremony, the jury members surprised the audience by performing a festival dance to thunderous applause.
While everyone was relaxing, watching movies, and having fun, my colleagues and I discussed films. Therefore, our little dance was not superfluous, – noted the chairman of the jury, Maxim Dobromyslov.
The jury also presented three special diplomas:
- “For courage” – “Not gold” by Takhmina Musset;
- “For sensuality” – “Zhuzha” by Yulia Anishchenko;
- “For impressionability” – “D-76” by Alexey Zhitkovsky.

Over the five days, “New Movement” was visited by about 30,000 people. The festival included a business program with the participation of directors, producers, marketers, representatives of film studios and media (film promotion, distribution certificates, AI in cinema, pitching under the guidance of Ivan Kudryavtsev were discussed); at the Art-house Film Market, 9 projects in the final stage of production were presented; a cultural program took place: the exhibition “Heritage of the Avant-garde”, a discussion on continuity, a lecture on contemporary art; master classes on film production and a three-day intensive course were held for children and teenagers Natalia Fenkina’s “First Steps in Cinema” with the opportunity to receive agency support.
The third festival of young cinema “New Movement” was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the government of the Novgorod region.
