Will Smith has landed the lead role in the action thriller Supermax, two years after the release of his last film. This will be Smith’s third film since the 2022 Oscars incident, when he punched Chris Rock in the face during the ceremony.

Writers David Weil and David J. Rosen will serve as executive producers. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the rights to a new film starring Smith, 57, which will be directed by David Gordon Green. Filming is scheduled to begin in mid-August.
The film “Supermax” is described as “a fast-paced, action-packed thriller about two FBI agents investigating a murder that took place in the world’s most secure prison.” Will Smee will play the lead character, Rex.
