Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating 8 years of marriage. The couple met in 2016 on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend, and sparks quickly flew between them.
We met for dinner, and I think very quickly after that we said, ‘What are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again,'” Meghan said in an interview on the occasion of their engagement in 2017.

After their first meeting, they went on several secret dates in London, and in October 2016 it became known about their romance. A year later, on November 27, 2017, the lovers announced their engagement.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married on May 19, 2018, in a lavish ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. After the church service, a wedding lunch was held, which was attended by 600 guests, and a private wedding reception was held in the evening at Frogmore House.
Five months after their wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that they were expecting their first child. On May 6, 2019, the couple welcomed their son, Archie Harrison. Two years later, on June 4, 2021, their daughter, Lilibet, was born. In January 2020, Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step back as senior members of the royal family, and by March of that year, the family had moved to California.
